Windows

I think windows can be art as well.  My kitchen window has a theme of seashells and lighthouses with a blue picket fence.

My bedroom has all my odd shaped figurines I don't seem to have any other place to lay them.

I love letting the sun shine through, with a nice breeze running through my house.  But when night falls i pull the shades down or close the curtains.   closing out the world I enjoyed having hours before.

I love the ocean view, but I have mountains at a angle, but on my front porch Its lovely in the morning watching the sun coming up early in the morning.

I cant see anyone wanting to use heavy draperies to close out the sunshine and cool air.  When you see those beautiful luxury home with the big tall windows, they mostly are covered with heavy dark material.

I have sheer panels on my window and I leave enough room for them to blow in the house.  Though there has been times I have had to tie them down.

I also out flowers and plants so they can get some sun while its out.  Window sill are great for green tomato's or anything else that isn't ripped.

Hospital windows

Apprently this is a old poem, that I just read for the 1st time.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Area Rugs

Beautiful area rug set the overall tone of any room in your home with vibrant colors and textures. Popular braided rugs, sisal rugs and beautiful multipurpose Persian rugs.
Whether you're looking for a gorgeous Persian rug to make a grand statement in your formal living room or a durable outdoor area rug for your patio, You don't have to settle for cheap rugs just to get a good price.
Area rugs are available in all shapes and sizes to meet the demands of your home decor.
Whatever your choice in rugs, you will need to decide where you want to place furniture in relation to the area rug. The style you choose will depend on your furniture and will affect whether a simple shag rug, a sisal rug, a Persian rug or a wool rug is a better choice.
Many people choose specialty-sized area rugs or square area rugs for living rooms and family rooms, while oval rugs and round rugs are the perfect choice for dining tables.

Blown Glass another Art form for Sinks

When you see the many colors and designs a vessel sink comes in, the beautiful bathrooms that can be designed around a sink.
The art of making a vessel sinks is the same as blown glass, the colors and style they come in.

There are so many beautiful colors you can find in a sink and faucets.

then the next thing you know you have a beautiful bathroom.

I was searching for some kitchen Ideas and I really didn't see much designs focusing around Vessel sinks and Faucets. I think for kitchen designs staying with the stainless steel or copper sinks for your kitchen.

Kitchen or Bathroom you can never do wrong with the beautiful sinks available for any color or decor.

Mountain living

Thinking back when my mothers side all use to get together in California and how we all would dance and listen to them all playing their musical instruments, Grandpa Harris and Uncle Bill banjo, Uncle Ed guitar, Aunt Ruth accordion, I am sure there were more people playing but I didn't pay attention I just loved dancing with all our cousins.
I have old photos of many family members taking pictures was a nice thing to have.  I need to get some shared on this page.

My mothers side was from Soway Tenn. just near Oakridge Tenn. she was born in 1941 with 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  The photos of them all kids looks as if they where poor, but you wouldn't think so when you hear of all the travels and the things they spoke of.

I recall driving and mom telling us where she grew up at and how they went to school with no shoes. Which again didn't mind any.

How they ate biscuits and jelly for lunch.

I also recall when visiting with the kin folk back in her home town how sweet and kind they all where to us and how they would give you their shirt off their back if you needed it.

I love thinking back to the dear and sweet kin folks I met once and maybe twice when having to travel back for funnels.  Last time Ive been in Tenn was when my grandmother Irene past away.  I still miss her so till this day.
As you see these photos their not the homes they grew up in least I don't believe so? I pulled them from photos from Tenn photo album on line.

But you can feel the warmth and the  pride in any home which was built by sweat and honor.

I wish I could find a photo of my mothers home while growing up as a child.

And the many homes I visited when I was a child in Tenn. and Alabama.

Have you ever drove down country road and were amazed to see people still living in those old homes, and they will wave hello while you drive by,

They have a lot sometime more then us they have a dear loving heart that I remember well.

I dedicate this to My mother, my grandmother and the whole family Tree.
